By having On-Page SEO, we can optimize our website's organic positioning. Following a content optimization strategy will make your domain relevant and play a very important role in defining your site. And you may be wondering how you can improve the content of your blog to position it.

Below we will see some practical tips that will help you grow your content and improve your position.

1. Article title

We refer to the title of the H1 article and then the meta title (many people get confused by this). In a content management system like WordPress, the H1 is usually the title that is provided to make the publication and is also used to create the URL. The title should describe the content that we are going to develop in a simple and attractive way. It should contain the keyword and if possible at the beginning, to facilitate the work of search engines and in blog optimization.

URL structure

As a general rule, the URL is automatically generated with the header we use, but it is recommended not to leave it like this:

• Delete articles and prepositions: Whenever you do this, the URL has the same meaning as the address.

• Include keywords. It will contribute to the optimization of blogs.

• Do not use symbols such as commas, exclamation points, question marks, or eñes. This is a very common mistake and causes very strange URLs to be generated.

• Keep the URL as short as possible, as long as it is relevant to the content of the article and optimization of blogs. Check this link for more information.

2. Writing the content

As for the length of the articles, Google does not mention anything in particular, but let's not forget that the "panda" algorithm responsible for the quality and copy of content controls semantic concordance.

The ideal is to write articles of at least 500 words, although this is not a rule. The most important thing is to prioritize the quality of what is being written; sometimes the topic can become clear with 300 words, other texts will need 600, and so on.

Not because the articles have a long extension, better positioning and optimization of blogs will be achieved. The goal is to create high-quality items in the most natural way possible. In order not to make the mistake of repeating your keyword excessively (keyword stuffing), it is recommended to use synonyms throughout the text, to expand the range of phrases to locate and emphasize the "importance of words.

The text is in bold and shaded so that users and search engines understand that these paragraphs are more important than others.

Headlines are another factor to consider when creating blogs content. These title tags help organize content to make it easier for readers and search bots to understand the content and highlight the parts that matter most.

• Use a unique H1 tag on each URL.

• Avoid repetition of H1 in meta titles.

• Title tags provide information about the importance of each title. H1 is the most relevant and is followed by H2, H3, H4, H5.

• Maintain a logical order of titles. You should not start with an H4 and then H2.

This will help blog optimization.

3. Meta title tag

This should be around 30 and 56 characters (including spaces). The address appears in the browser bar and SERPS. Keywords are very important when you write blogs; you should include at least one keyword and if possible, as soon as possible in the title. If you put it at the end, Google search engines will give you less value and you’re not getting blog optimization.

You should be brief, specific, and eye-catching. Title keywords are one of the most important factors.

4. Meta description

The description must be between 70 and 156 characters (with spaces included). This description should ultimately be a brief summary of the content of the message. We need to include some keywords and as in the title, it should be included as soon as possible. The meta description of the page explains, convinces, clarifies, and draws attention. Its value lies in creating a compelling description that search engines want to click on. It must be directly related to the page it describes and be unique on each page. This helps with blog optimization.

5. Imagery

If you're using a site like WordPress, the first thing you need to do is add a featured image for blog optimization.

Depending on the blog topic, this will be the first image that users see after the title and the image will appear in search engines as a thumbnail in some searches.

It is recommended that the image has a minimum width of 1250 pixels. Images used to illustrate blogs content must include a title tag and alt text describing the image, or you can also use your primary keyword. The second factor to consider for photos is weight. It is necessary to take into account the size in which it will be displayed on the web, to create an image that adapts and compresses as much as possible. 6. Internal links

They are very important because they are the things that are shared and that will create a reference for our website and contribute to blog optimization. The intranet prefers that our content be indexed by search engines. Again, it is normal to highlight how many links to include and how to link them: two options, either put them in an image or with the text of the link. In the images what acts as an "anchor text" in the eyes of the robot will be an "alt" text hence its importance and we can put 5 or 6 at most.

The anchor text is the one you click. It tells the user and the bot what's on the other side. Always use the keywords you want to advertise. Ideally, when writing a 400-word article, you should provide 2 or 3 text links and 3 or 4 images if necessary.

7. Publish frequently for the optimization of your blogs

Search engines like Google prioritize recent content, so the more up-to-date your blog is, the more useful information it will contain for users and for the optimization of blogs. But beware, do not change titles or images to republish a previous blog, since you can be penalized.

To make it easier for you to publish constantly you can make a calendar in which you decide which are the days in which you will make publications and consider diversifying the contents.

The most important thing is that everything you write on your blog is quality content because it will be useless to follow the aforementioned steps without information that adds value to users and help you with blog optimization.
